This is known as : Read-through revenue And it’s how successful indie authors make bank! Step 1: Choose a Series Framework (Your Money Foundation) Your series needs a reason to exist across multiple books. Best-performing frameworks: High-Performing Options:✅Small town (everyone knows everybody)✅Family (siblings = built-in storylines)✅Friend group (natural drama)✅Workplace (forced proximity = tension) Examples: A family-owned winery Each sibling gets their own love story The business = ongoing drama AI can literally generate this entire setup for you in minutes. Step 2: Build a Cast That Carries the Series Your characters shouldn’t just exist… They should feel like they’re waiting for their turn. Strategy:Introduce characters earlyLet readers get curiousGive them emotional tension BEFORE their book Example:Book 1: You meet the sisterBook 2: You see her struggleBook 3: You finally get her story That’s anticipation = SALES. Step 3: Create an Overarching Story Arc If your books feel disconnected… readers won’t binge. You need something that ties everything together. Emotional Arc Examples: Family healing from trauma Friends reconnecting after years apart Community rebuilding something lost This makes readers want to know what happens next. Step 4: Plan Each Book (Strategically, Not Randomly) Don’t write 5 similar books. That’s how readers get bored. Mix your tropes: Book 1 → Enemies to lovers Book 2 → Second chance Book 3 → Fake dating Book 4 → Forced proximity Book 5 → Friends to lovers Each book = new flavorSame world = consistency Step 5: Build Your “Series Bible” (Most People Skip This) This is what separates amateurs from professionals. And they WILL drag you in reviews Step 6: Optimize for Read-Through Your job isn’t just to write books.
